A seminar, a concert, a conference, a reception? Look at our Salle des fêtes!

La salle des fêtes

From its inauguration on November 5, 1927, the Salle des fêtes was used for the various festivities of the foundation: concerts, conferences, but also film shoots. The majority of the ceiling walls are then covered with sumptuous paintings.

During the Second World War, the building was occupied by the Red Cross and then by the German army. When the German army withdrew after the liberation of Paris, a grenade was thrown into the room and started a fire. Later, the building was requisitioned by the American army and finally returned to its original destination.

Renovation and restoration of the paintings were carried out following this fire. Apart from the first northern span, the vault is then covered with white paint.
